Most of you reading this edition of The Scoop were probably in diapers or drinking from sippy cups the last time we were able to do what were about to tell you about.
Close your eyes and imagine you are a Real Estate agent… especially if you are one. Wait… open your eyes! You can’t read this with your eyes closed!
So, you are a Realtor… a client has hired you to sell their home. You know the drill today… you must set up appointments, every 30 minutes, all day long, and then potential buyers, who are lucky enough to get an appointment would have to be escorted by their real estate agent to visit the home during that short 30-minute window. What a hassle!
Well, what if we told you that there used to be… and again, I am going way back in time here… but there used to be this thing, that realtors would do, called an “Open House”.
Now this is going to sound super weird, but stick with us, we swear this was a real thing. Saturday and Sunday, from about 1pm to 4pm, the Realtor who is selling the home would open the door to the house, and actually let people in. And potential buyers, with, or without their agent, would come in and browse around, on their own time, at their own pace, and tour the home.
I know, right! Whaaaaat??
But guess what!! Open Houses are back, baby!!
Insert cliché here:
Can you think of any more?? It doesn’t matter… did you hear what we said?
Open Houses are back!!
According to this website, as of today, May 12, 2021, “In-person showings of properties, like open houses, are permitted” !
Hallelujah!
Now, of course, there are still guidelines. We must follow the indoor gatherings capacity limits in the CDPH gatherings guidance which basically means the number of people in a home at one time will be limited. Physical distancing between different households must be maintained. Obviously, people who feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms are not permitted to attend… that’s just common sense. Hand sanitizer should be made available. Face coverings will be required.
And, for the time being, the Coronavirus Property Entry Advisory and Declaration – Visitor (PEAD-V) forms are still required.
That, to us, is a fair trade to have our beloved “Open Houses” back again… besides… Safety First!
I hope you are as excited as we are.
That’s The Scoop for now. And as always, feel free to reach out to any one of us here at Elation Real Estate. We are guided by experience, not a compass!
All the best,
Your Elation Real Estate Team
